What Does A Nipple Piercing Mean

take stock of their early warning X

XMRV , and it seems clear that it will take some time to shed light on the methods used in the laboratory before it reaches the causation and experimental therapies. A "getting out" this time is the New York Times in an article a bit long and confusing, but - if you have patience to read till the end, gives a picture of the situation of departure for this new year. I am an active advocate of Whittemore's argument - the Mikovits Judy is my idol and no one can touch me - but that does not mean that there must explain the two sides of the story, is not it? Following the translation of ' article. What do you think?

However, many others - as well as relatives, friends, employers, doctors and insurance companies or the millions more Americans estimated to suffer from the disease - have dismissed as a disease by stress, psychosomatic or simply imaginary.
Now, recent advertisements that have followed have highlighted both the volatility of the issue is the ambiguity of science, and have alternated between hope and disappointment for patients.
On 14 December, a dedicated committee has suggested a ban on donations to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA - USA Health Authority) by people with CFS (as spesso viene chiamata la malattia) nella loro anamnesi.
“Quando un comitato FDA consiglia un divieto di donazioni per pazienti con la CFS, Clearly this has an impact on the way to address the issue by doctors, "said Mary Schweitzer, a former professor of history at Villanova, who writes frequently about how to live with the disease. Dr. Schweitzer says it was unable to work for 16 years because of the syndrome, which was diagnosed following a series of influenza-like illness.
The research that has alarmed the FDA had reported that people with the syndrome, also called myalgic encephalomyelitis or myalgic encephalopathy in Europe, have a higher rate of infection by viruses or other XMRV the same category, known as MLV virus. (These viruses are all part of the family of virus MLV - murine leukemia (mice), some of which can infect other species as well as mice, and their, if any, role in human disease remains unknown.)
However, several other research teams in the past year have not found any connection between Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and these viruses, although none has yet tried to replicate the exact methods used by researchers who identified the link.
The new studies published in Retrovirology reported that contamination of samples of tissue or other laboratory mice with the DNA or genetic material virus can cause false positives for XMRV, and consequently other MLV virus, specifically the use of technology based on polymerase chain reaction. This technique quickly produces millions of copies of gene segments, and even minute traces of genetic contamination can distort the results.
"Our conclusion is very simple: 'XMRV is not the cause of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome," said the lead author of one of these searches, Greg Towers, a professor of virology at the University College London, in a statement issued by the Institute Sanger della Wellcome Trust , il centro di ricerca britannico che ha contribuito a sponsorizzare la ricerca.
Tuttavia,   gli studi nuovi, commenta Eric Gordon, un medico di Santa Rosa, California, che ha in cura molti pazienti che soffrono della malattia, not evaluate other strategies in addition to PCR to detect virus MLV, which tests the immune response and cell culture virus.
"The articles prove the point that the PCR does not work very well with these viruses, and then behave as if that would contradict the whole concept," says Dr. Gordon.
XMRV has been identified for the first time in 2006, and in some studies been found in patients with prostate cancer. It 'been linked to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in October of 2009, a study published in the journal Science of researchers from the Whittemore Peterson Institute for Neuro-Immune Diseases at the University of Nevada, Reno, the National Cancer Institute and the Cleveland Clinic.
The researchers have used PCR technology to show that about two thirds of patients but less than 4 percent of the control population had XMRV. However, using other technologies, have also documented an antibody response in some CFS patients, and reported that XMRV present in human blood could infect other human cells.
La situazione movimentata ha creato un dilemma for patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and the doctors who treat them. Some are trying to cure patients with anti-HIV drugs, which physicians can legally prescribe already despite the fact that the FDA has not made them yet authorized for this purpose.
Many doctors and researchers say it is too early to prescribe these drugs for chronic fatigue syndrome because of possible side effects such as marrow suppression, gastrointestinal problems and liver problems and kidney, among other things. But Michael Allen, an author and former psychologist in San Francisco, rendered disabled by the disease for more than 15 years, says he would not hesitate to try the drug if it appears positivo per un virus MLV.
